Cold outreach without a defined cadence is noise — yours and theirs. This SOP converts a prospecting list into a disciplined weekly batch of personalized outreach that builds pipeline consistently, independent of referral volume or inbound activity. Running it every Wednesday creates a rhythm your pipeline can actually depend on.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. Review your prospecting list against your current Ideal Client Profile. Remove anyone who doesn't match the profile criteria. If the list is consistently thin, check whether your sourcing channels need adjustment before sending.
  2. For each qualified target, run the Cold Outreach Personalizer skill with the prospect's name, firm, role, and any relevant context (recent news, shared connection, practice focus) as input. Review the personalized message output.
  3. Edit each message for accuracy and voice. Remove anything that reads as templated. The message should reference something specific to the recipient — not just their name and title.
  4. Send all outreach via your chosen channel (LinkedIn, email, or equivalent). Log each contact in your pipeline tracker with the date sent, message used, and a follow-up date 7 days out.
  5. After sending, update your Weekly Pipeline Review with the new outreach count. Any prospect who responds positively within 7 days moves into active pipeline and will appear in your Monday review.

Expected Outcome

You'll have 5-10 personalized outreach messages sent and logged, each with a follow-up date recorded. Your pipeline tracker reflects this week's outreach activity, and your Wednesday cadence has held.

<aside> ⚠️ Common mistakes:

Sending batch outreach without reviewing against the Ideal Client Profile first. Volume without targeting wastes your time and the recipient's. Ten well-matched prospects outperform fifty mismatched ones every time.

Skipping the log because the week is busy. Unlogged outreach creates invisible pipeline — prospects who responded positively but were never followed up because there was no record they existed. Every send gets logged, same session.
